Horror/sci-fi/fantasy writer & game designer. Love heavy metal, live bands, good times with mates, role playing games, board & computer games. Also a developer, entomologist & statistician.
I guess all this makes me an "intellectual" kinda person, but as I think those who know me will attest, I like to have fun and do social things too - in fact if anything I prefer the company of those that are "fun" over those that are "intellectual" (ideally they're both, but many of friends aren't intellectual at all really, or have views opposite to mine). I love to catch up with mates, go and see bands, and am quite partial to a drink (and the occasional joint I'll admit). I also love games - in particular role-playing games and board games (and computer games with those influences). If it's a game that encourages strategy and social interaction then it's probably something I'll get into (and try to rope others into as well haha).
I do go out of my way to try to relate to others, to not come across as somehow thinking I'm "better" than them, and to not take myself (or them) too seriously... Really I'm a laid-back and down-to-earth person, but for all that I'm quite "different" from the norm. "Fitting in" and being "normal" is not something I ever have or ever will aspire to - there's too much cool stuff I enjoy to be bothered with that, and for that matter I am very much my own person, an honest, open and (mostly) shameless person, and don't care much for the judgement of others - likewise I endeavour not to judge others (I don't always succeed in that but I guess that's inevitable).
